General
Information
- Municipal terms of office are four years.
- Offices up for election will be either three Council Seats or
the Mayor and two Council Seats.
- Elections are held the first Tuesday after the first Monday
in November every two years in even number years.
- Qualifications for office: Must be a bona fide resident
for at least one year prior to election and must be a qualified
elector.
- Qualifications to vote: Citizen of the United States;
On the date of the next election will be the age of 18 years old;
Have continuously resided in the State of Nevada, in the county
at least 30 days and in the precinct at least 10 days before the
next election; the present address listed is the sole legal place
of residence and you claim no other place as your legal residence;
you are not laboring under any felony conviction or other loss
of civil rights, which would make it unlawful for you to vote.

not wish to give one of the previous call the Elections Department

If you register to vote
by mail, Nevada law requires that you vote in person for your
first election. Note: General Municipal Elections
are non-partisan. You can vote for all offices on your ballot,
regardless of party affiliation.
3. Keeping voter
registration current
When you move, notify
the Elko County Election Department by the following means:
- a letter providing a change of address
- voter registration card with address section properly completed
- election department's change of address card
- properly completed voter registration card
4. Change of name
by marriage or any other legal means
Complete a new voter
registration card showing your new name
5. Change of political
party affiliation listed on your registration record
Complete a new voter
registration card showing your new party affiliation
All notifications
must have your handwritten signature.
6. Where military
personnel and overseas residents may register
Military personnel and
their dependents temporarily lving outside of Nevada and Elko
County residents temporarily living overseas, should obtain
a "Registration & Absentee Ballot Request - Federal Post
Card Application" (FPCA) from voting offices at military bases
and U.S.Embassies or Consulates. The FPCA is also available
from teh Elko County Election Department.

The polling place for
the West Wendover Elections is the West Wendover Branch Library
located at 590 Camper Drive, West Wendover, Nevada.
