The West Wendover Fire
Department was established in January of 1993 and is under the direction
of Fire Chief Jeff Knudtson. The Fire Department growth keeps pace
with that of the community. It currently is home to three pumper
trucks, three command vehicles, two HAZMAT equipment trailers, one
HAZMAT operations vehicles, two brush trucks, and an air truck.
Twenty-four part time firefighters and three career officers who
perform regularly above and beyond the call of duty staff the Department.

I am dedicated to protect the lives, property and quality of life of the citizens we serve. I will strive to maintain our Department as one which is superbly trained and highly motivated to achieve our mission. I base our success on the superior skills, character and professionalism of the men and women of our organization. I, as the Chief, recognize that all Members make up this Department and that I am only their leader and with out them, there is no Department.

Members of the Department guarantee to the people of West Wendover and its response area that we will provide dependable service in a responsive fashion, while showing care and compassion for those in need.
The Members of this Department, working together, will provide a professional and caring environment that is fair, honest, loyal and ethical; that treats all our citizens with respect and dignity.
The Department will be a progressive, public service oriented organization, which provides and develops innovative and effective leadership and is supportive to the needs of our City government.
To provide a range of services and programs designed to protect the lives and property of the inhabitants of the City of West Wendove, and its surrounding area from the adverse effects of fires, medical emergencies and exposure to dangerous conditions created by either man or nature. We shall accomplish this through prevention, education, fire suppression, rescue, emergency medical and other related emergency and non-emergency activities
