Born, raised and educated in Washington state, Josephine Thaut has been a resident of Nevada for 36 years.  A love of politics and a dedication to civic service has been her hobby since moving to Wendover in 1981.  Instrumental in helping to develop the City of West Wendover, which became incorporated in 1991, her motto remains "We have an opportunity to do it right".  Knowing that "challenge is progress", has helped to retain the vision required to move forward with passion on building a sound livable community.  When her time permits, she enjoys gardening and her horses.  Although as Mayor she is never far removed from the City motto of "Come grow with us".
