The new West Wendover Elementary School Project is well underway and on schedule for completion in August of 2016.  Earlier in the year, Elko County School District bid and awarded the $23 million project to Ascent Construction, Inc., out of Centerville, Utah.   The project includes a new Elementary school supporting 720 + students along with related playground and field facilities, an indoor cafeteria/gymnasium and as well the completion of approximately 1 mile of public facility/street improvements that will link to additional street improvements underway by the City.  These public street improvements will provide a complete streets/safe route for the students for what will become a campus type facility for West Wendover Schools.

Once the students are relocated to the new Elementary facility in August 2016, a second project will be bid to renovate and remodel the existing Elementary facility into a Middle School.   All total the District expects to commit well over $30 million into the West Wendover campus facilities over the next three years.
