At the Regular City Council Meeting of July 17, 2018, Mayor Daniel Corona presented his award for the Hardest Working Volunteers for the 4^th of July Event to Brenda Claiborne and Cathy Bean. 

Mayor Corona remarked that Brenda and Cathy took on a huge amount of the work for this year’s 4^th of July Event and that they did an amazing job.  They organized and operated the Selfie and Wendover Trivia contests as well as the new 4^th of July Amazing Race scavenger hunt/competition along with other work throughout the event including Bingo and the Parade in addition to working in the park booth the whole day.  “I don’t think the event would have gone as smoothly without them”, said Mayor Corona.  

Brenda and Cathy accepted the Mayor’s award certificates and Brenda then thanked all the others who were involved in making the event successful who she said without all of their involvement the event just wouldn’t be possible.
