Healthy Nevada Project is a non profit community based health initiative based in Reno Nevada providing free DNA testing to Northern Nevadans scanning for a multitude of diseases including hereditary breast cancer risk and FH, also a hereditary condition leading to high cholesterol and heart disease. The test is a simple saliva collection kit and on top of having the option to being contacted if we find any health risk participants also receive a free ancestry report from National Geographic as a thank you.
The project will be testing 40,000 participants throughout the state, including rural areas to get an accurate representation of Nevada and they have already tested in ten rural city’s including Winnemucca, Yerington, Battle Mountain and now they are coming to West Wendover.
Healthy Nevada Project will be conducting this testing at the West Wendover Library on September 26th from 12pm to 6pm.
