Police Officer Luis Perez Graduates Nevada P.O.S.T. Academy

L. Perez NVPOST Graduation 11-2019West Wendover Police Officer Luis Perez graduated Nevada P.O.S.T. Academy as a Category I Police Officer today in Carson City, Nevada.   Officer Perez was originally hired as a Dispatcher for the Police Department in January 2015 and after working several years, he applied for and was accepted for a transfer to the position of Police Officer in October 2018.  Since then, Officer Perez has been preparing for his eventual attendance to the academy and he was accepted into the 2019-02 class this past July.

When asked about his time at the academy and his graduation Officer Perez said, “Going through the academy has been a challenge, both mentally and physically.  The academy has brought me a long way as a peace officer and as an individual and it has taught me good morals and integrity. I am prepared for what the job has to bring and ready for a new set of goals with high standards and I am ready to serve the people and my community.”

West Wendover Police Chief Cal Kunz had the opportunity to attend Officer Perez’s graduation and said, “It was a privilege to be able to attend.  Luis is a very positive officer who is always willing to help and has a strong desire to serve our community and is a great example to those around him.  It will be exciting to watch him grow in his law enforcement career”.
