City Provides Essential Food for West Wendover Elderly - March 18th through April 15th
As part of the City's efforts to assist the community during this COVID-19 Pandemic, the City will be assisting our elderly who have limited friends or family close by, providing basic food items from the JAS Foundation Food Bank in order that they may stay home and avoid public spaces and/or crowds.
A West Wendover elderly person (65 years of age or older) who has limited friends or family to assist them can simply call the West Wendover City Hall and request the delivery of a basic food package which will come from the local JAS Foundation's Food Bank. City staff will make the delivery.
The program will run from March 18th through April 15th.
Mayor Corona said, "This is a special opportunity to ensure the elderly in our community are taking care of at this time, with so much uncertainty today with all that is happening, it can make it very difficult for our elderly population to just do the basic daily tasks. This hopefully will be a bit of a respite to those who need it. I want to thank Frank Sharp at the local JAS Foundation for coordinating this with us.
To schedule a Food Bank food box delivery call the West Wendover City Hall 775-664-3081. The City Hall is open business days (Monday through Friday) from 8am to 5pm.
