Unfortunately, due to the continued COVID-19 Pandemic and related restrictions, the City’s Annual Wendover in Lights program will not be occurring this year.  However, that doesn’t mean the wonderful holiday displays are missing… oh no, in fact they are lit for all the community to see and experience in hopes that they can keep us all in the great spirit of the season.  You can see the displays in and around the West Wendover City Hall and Welcome Center now through the New Year’s holiday. 

At City Hall, we have our beautifully decorated Christmas Tree proudly displayed in the lobby surrounded by poinsettias and of course what tree wouldn’t be complete without presents.   Please come in and admire it and of course, take photos of yourself and your loved ones.  The lobby at City Hall is open Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm except designated holidays.  The Christmas Tree is also lit at night so you can view it when driving by on the street.

Outside City Hall you will see a brand-new Santa and Sleigh display along with Santa’s always hardworking Elf Crew and Reindeer, the baby Jesus and Bethlehem Christmas Manger scene and the beautifully lit Menorah celebrating the Hanukkah holiday.

The City Staff works hard every year to make these beautiful displays a reality for the community so a huge thanks to their efforts. 

A special thank you this year goes out to those who labored behind the creation of the new Santa and Sleigh display.  Kerrie Supanich along with her partner Steve Wallace who spent a great deal of their time on cutting out the forms and painstakingly painting the wonderfully lifelike Reindeer, Sleigh and jovial Saint Nick; and Anna Bartlome, Keridwen Hillstead, Maria Hernandez, Charlotte Jones, Heather Sherman, Heather Murphy and Debbie Smith for painting Santa’s Elves and giving them their Christmas mojo.   Thank you all!

When asked about the annual lighting of the displays, Mayor Corona remarked, “Although we are once again unable to gather in person to light the city's holiday displays, our community has made tremendous progress in battling the COVID-19 Pandemic over the last year and that gives me great hope that we will be able to join together once again next year for this celebration in person. This holiday season is my favorite time of year because of the great opportunity it gives us to reconnect with loved ones and to be grateful for the good things in our lives. Whether you're currently in the midst of your Hanukkah celebration, or you celebrate Christmas or another related holiday or no holiday at all, I hope that the season is filled with joy and love for you and your loved ones!"
