The City of West Wendover would like to wish Kerrie Supanich a heart felt farewell as she begins her new journey in retirement after 20 years of service.

Kerrie was brought on board with the City in 2002 as an Administrative Clerk for the City’s Welcome Center.  In 2008 she was promoted to Administrative Assistant, the position she has served up to her retirement.

City Manager Chris Melville said, “When I hired Kerrie in 2002, I knew it was a great opportunity to bring a life-long resident of the community on board and tap into her interests, knowledge and love of the community and what we have to offer to those who visit us.   She has been steadfast in her work through the years doing just that:  Greeting visitors, providing them information, participating in state tourism conferences and leadership building classes and programs, working on tourism grants, etc.  All to work towards providing a focal point where visitors could come and obtain the information they were looking for and most often times, information that they would want, if only they knew what to ask for.   That was always Kerrie’s delight, educating a visitor beyond just the obvious.”   City Manager Melville added, “Of course bringing her on board was an easy decision, knowing Kerrie for 50 years and knowing her capability which was never in question; it was more about, just letting her do her thing.”

We will certainly miss Kerrie but wish her the best in this new journey she is ready to take.
