Post Date:01/04/2023 3:30 PM

Officer Antonio Escareno 5 year Service Award 1-4-2023On Wednesday January 4, 2023, West Wendover Police Officer Antonio Escareno received his 5 year service award by City Manager Chris Melville.

Officer Escareno began working for the City in December of 2017.   When asked by City Manager Melville if he could believe it had been 5 years already, Officer Escareno showed his guarded sense of humor and replied with a grin, “Yes, yes I can”.

City Manager Melville commented when asked about the award, “I remember very well when Antonio accepted his conditional offer of employment.  Though he was reserved and nervous, I sensed the celebratory explosion just waiting to happen.  I didn’t get to see it but I bet it happened not more than 5 minutes after leaving my office.  It is always very gratifying and heartening when those from within the community choose to join and serve our community in such a way.  What a great treat to provide him with his 5-year service award.”

In addition to his service plaque, Officer Escareno also received a service pin designed with the City Seal.  The pin reflects the employee's years of service with a star for every five years they have served.  As well, he received a $25 Smith's Food Store Gift Card.

Thank you, Officer Escareno, for being part of a great team of people dedicated to the community.
