At the Regular City Council Meeting of September 19, 2023, Gunnar Carter and Deeanna Croasmun of the Wendover Prevention Group presented two Youth Recognition Awards to Natalie Luna and Jockssan Contreras.

Natalie Luna:  Natalie stands out for her proactive commitment to aiding those in need. With six years of dedicated service as a Girl Scout, she consistently volunteers to assist senior citizens, even during the holiday season. Natalie's willingness to lend a hand whenever required is consistently accompanied by a warm and cheerful disposition, making her a valuable asset to our community.

Jockssan Contreras:  Jockssan exhibits remarkable resilience and an exceptional capacity for kindness. As a devoted older brother and son, he extend their caring nature to the broader community. His commitment to personal growth is evident through their dedication to learning a musical instrument for the school band and their active involvement in wrestling. Moreover, he consistently demonstrates a selfless willingness to assist others, reflecting a kind-hearted, noble, and genuinely altruistic nature that makes Jackson a valuable asset to our community.
