Meet Steptoe Veterinarians

Dr. Clinton Henriod

Dr. Clinton Henriod grew up north of Ely on his family’s cattle and hay farm. He received his B.S. in Animal Science from West Texas A&M University and his DVM from Texas A&M University, which is where he met the other Dr. Henriod. After graduating from veterinary school, he married Whitley and returned home to Nevada. Before opening Steptoe Veterinary Service’s brick and mortar practice, Clinton ran a mobile large animal practice out of his truck and worked as an emergency veterinarian in Reno. While his passion is cattle herd work, Clinton loves all aspects of rural veterinary care. When not in the office he is farming and raising his two children, Jayne and Kurt.

Dr. Whitley Henriod

Dr. Whitley Henriod grew up in George West, Texas where her family spent most of their time showing market goats and fishing on the Gulf Coast. She received her B.S. in Animal Science and her DVM from Texas A&M University, which is where she met the other Dr. Henriod. After graduating from veterinary school, the Henriod's got married and moved to Nevada. Before opening Steptoe Veterinary Service’s brick and mortar practice, Whitley worked as an emergency veterinarian in Reno and for a non-profit clinic in Panaca. Her focus is on small animals and her favorite part of her job is soft tissue surgery. When not in the office she is raising her two children, Jayne and Kurt, and loves to cook, read, and write.

Dr. Courtney Bellander-Spear

Dr. Courtney Bellander-Spear was born and raised in Ely, NV and grew up participating in 4-H, FFA, and High School Rodeos. She obtained her bachelor's degree in Agriculture Science and Industries from Southern Utah University in 2017. She attended veterinary school at Colorado State University, graduating in 2021. Dr. B sees all animal species, but especially enjoys working on her equine patients. In her free time she enjoys barrel racing and team roping.
