Miguel eventually moved to West Wendover to assist his family with their business, the Hard Times Pawnshop.  In April of 2016 he joined the West Wendover Police Department as a Police Officer and in December of 2019 he received a promotion to Police Sergeant.  In May of this year, he was selected for promotion as the new Police Lieutenant serving under Police Chief Brad Hillaker.

Miguel carries forward his passion for serving the community and meeting new people. When asked about one of the most interesting aspects of his work, Miguel responded, “I believe that police officers deal with many situations that the community sometimes may be oblivious to.  I enjoy the challenges that the job provides when dealing with difficult situations and the fact that no one day is ever the same in police work.”

Congratulations Miguel on your new leadership position with the City!
