West Wendover, NV — West Wendover Police Department has received Federal Grant Funds to continue its participation in the Joining Forces Traffic Safety Campaign which combines 37 law enforcement agencies across the State of Nevada that focuses on safety awareness, education and enforcement of traffic laws. The campaign series will run from October 2025 through September 2026.

Joining Forces is a high-visibility and multi-jurisdictional effort to increase safety on Nevada’s public roads. The program’s focus is on increased awareness, public education and enforcement of Nevada traffic laws. The program includes events focused on distracted and impaired driving, seat belt use, speeding, pedestrian safety, motorcycle/UTV use, bicycles, and other traffic laws.  West Wendover Police Department is able to participate in the Joining Forces Traffic Safety Campaign through a grant provided by the Nevada Department of Public Safety (DPS), Office of Traffic Safety and the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA).

“As an agency we are committed to keeping Nevada’s roads safe for everyone in the community. Participating in the Joining Forces campaign allows more opportunities to prevent traffic incidents and educate the public on safe driving practices.” said Officer Luis Perez with West Wendover Police Department.  Officer Perez has been the recipient of the “Outstanding Officer of the Year” Award which is awarded by the Joining Forces Program.
