Story by City of West Wendover Staff
The City of West Wendover enjoyed a fantastic week of Independence Day celebration. The 2026 Fourth of July Festivities brought together residents and visitors for several days of fun, friendly competition, and community spirit. This year's theme, "Victory to Vintage – America 250," was a wonderful success.
The festivities kicked off on Thursday with a lively Bingo night, where participants enjoyed great company, delicious refreshments, and the chance to win numerous raffle prizes throughout the evening. The excitement continued on Friday with the Color Run/Walk, drawing participants of all ages.
Saturday's events were filled from start to finish, beginning with the 5K Run/Walk, children's races, a pancake breakfast, swim day, and the community parade. Families gathered afterward at LaCombe Fields to enjoy food, music by a DJ, a free photo booth, and the Chalk Art contest. Additional activities included a basketball challenge and the JR Bees All-Star Game before the evening concluded with a spectacular fireworks display.
Congratulations to all of this year's competitors! Many participants took home medals and cash prizes during the Fourth of July events, adding to an already memorable day of celebration.
The City would like to thank all of the participants, the City staff who began planning this event months in advance, and community members whose hard work and support made this year's festivities such a tremendous success. It was great to see so many familiar faces along with visitors from neighboring communities celebrating America's 250th together.
