On May 10th the City held its Pre Construction Meeting with Florence Way Phase 2 contractor Whitaker Construction along with local utility companies and state agencies involved in the project.  

The Notice to Proceed was subsequently issued and the contractor is now scheduled to begin work on May 23rd.    

Florence Way Phase 2 is a completely new street construction, thus a full closure is required for the existing "old" Florence Way, which will be closed from the intersection at Camper Drive to Mesa Street beginning May 23rd and ending August 31st; the project work being completed through the entire summer. 

The complete street closure will allow the contractor to perform all utility and road work in constructing the new Florence Way Phase 2 segment while demolishing and removing the existing "old" Florence Way.
