Gerald "Jerry" Anderson, Council MWestWendoverCity_03ember/Mayor Pro-tem

Jerry graduated High School in Sandy, Oregon in 1956.  He served in the U.S. Army as a Combat Engineer from 1957 to 1961 and then his entrepreneurial drive took over and he formed his own construction company, A&K Construction doing independent contract work for the timber industry till 1966.  He then moved to Evergreen, Colorado where he was the Manager of the Graystone Guest Ranch through 1967.  In 1968, Jerry entered the gaming business in Nevada by becoming the Gaming Operations Slot Department Shift Manager at Harvey’s Resort Hotel & Casino in South Lake Tahoe where he remained through the early 1980’s before relocating to West Wendover in 1983 where he began work for the State Line & Silver Smith Casino Resorts as a Slot Operations Director.  In 2002 Jerry began working for the Resorts at Wendover (Peppermill, Rainbow & Montego Bay) where he retired in 2009. 

Since 1991 Jerry has also served as an elected Director/Board Member for the Wells Rural Electric Company (co-op).  He is a Credentialed co-op Director as well as holding a Board Leadership Certificate.

Jerry enjoys golfing, remodeling work and landscaping, traveling and old cars.  He has a loving family with his wife, five wonderful children, eighteen grand children and two great grand children …so far.

 

 

 

WestWendoverCity_16Ismael "Izzy" Gutierrez, Council Member

Izzy was born in Brownsville Texas and moved with his family to the West Wendover area in 1976, which has been his home since.  

He enjoys watching his community grow and enjoys being a part of its growth.  One of his main contributions is in the medical field which he sees as a win-win situation.  It allows him to contribute a needed necessity to the community while at the same time he finds that the medical profession fits his life style very well. 

Some of his hobbies and interests include:  Outdoor activities, traveling globally and traveling to many locations around our great country.

Jasie was born in Lake Tahoe, California, the younger of two children, to Dan and Cathy Hill.  Dan moved the family to Wendover in the early 1980’s.  Jasie married Kurt Holm in 2000 and they now have two beautiful daughters Hannah and Hailey. 

Jasie is the owner of the Enola Gay Café that opened in 2007 and the Co owner of Enola Gay Catering LLC, which was established in 2009.   Jasie went to the University Of Nevada Reno where she studied Business Management. 

Golfing, hunting, fishing, traveling and cooking are a few of Jasie's favorite past times.  Between family, businesses, and City Council she stays busy and very involved in the community.


 

WestWendoverCity_08Nicolas "Nick" Flores, Council Member

Nick was born in Cedarville, California the oldest of three children, to Elias and Clara Flores.  Nick is married to Bertha and they have three children, one girl Cynthia and two boys, Nikk and Josue.

Nick’s parents moved to Wendover in 1980 where they worked for the State Line Casino.  He attended Elementary and High School graduating in 1992 and left to attend College in Phoenix, Arizona.  In 1996 he moved back to Wendover and took a position in the Computer Systems Department for the Peppermill Casinos.  Nick was promoted to Computer Systems Manager in 2012.  He and his team oversee the Computer and Network infrastructure for Wendover Peppermill properties.

Nick really enjoys seeing the positive growth in West Wendover and is very excited to see what the future brings to this great community.  Nick loves spending time with his family, playing guitar and learning new technology trends.

 

 


Kathy Durham, Council Member

November 2018 - Elected

Kathy was born in Dugway, Utah, and grew up in the Salt Lake Valley and graduated from South Summit High School in Kamas, Utah. She is the youngest of three children born to Phillip and June Leonard.  Kathy moved to West Wendover in 2000 with her husband Bob Durham.  Together they have 5 children and 11 grandchildren.

She received her Bachelors of Arts in Education from the University of Utah and later obtained a Masters in Education from Walden University.  She teaches American Government and U.S. History at West Wendover High School along with coaching the Girls Golf Team.

Kathy is an avid golfer and fan of all things University of Utah and Utah Jazz.  She loves spending time with her family, especially her grand children.  She is passionate about teaching and working to improve education in public schools and is excited to serve as a Council Member representing the community of West Wendover.  She hopes to bring an educator’s perspective to the Council.
